Monday, Septem1:50:51 AM - Cristian Croitoru In my case, I am not an educator, just a dev giving a basic sprint demo over a shared screen (via Skype). Tools->Options->Environment->Fonts and Colors->Grid Results if you want to enlarge the font for grid results, it's still the OLD way. Yes, thanks to SQL team for improvements. I was hunting through the menus and couldn't come up with a thing to explain what happened, and there it was right in front of me. I couldn't believe I missed the very obvious (now that I know) percent setting. So I Googled the question, and up popped your excellent, simple answer.
#SQL STUDIO ICONS TOO SMALL IN WINDOWS 10 HOW TO#
I could NOT figure out what happened or how to un-zoom in.
#SQL STUDIO ICONS TOO SMALL IN WINDOWS 10 CODE#
Thank you! I was CTRL-Zing away some of the code I'd written, and for no apparent reason, the font went tiny. Someone changed my font size for one demonstration and I was not finding a way to readjust to normal. I suppose it is because Microsoft does not want us USING SMSS for editing, and their suggestion is to use Visual Studio to edit all SQL code. I like my type size, never had an issue going in through options to change it if I needed, and this is definitely a "solution where no problem existed". So incredibly annoying, and so rude of Microsoft not to make that an option. and then I need to stop everything and reset it to 100%. If my finger DARES to linger on that control button while I'm trying to scroll through SQL code, ZOOM IN, ZOOM OUT. Am I the ONLY person who does CUT and PASTE with the CTRL key? Maybe this is a feature to some, but for me it has been an annoyance. Pinch to zoom also works on most trackpads, as I inadvertently discovered in a demo today. You show a picture of the new menu item, but you don't tell how to bring up the menu. I just took a dump of the SqlWb.exe process, and killed it, again. There is nothing you need to click on to bring up the menu, just click on the drop down to select the size. So, my best guess is that when you create Diagrams, save them prior to creating new tables on the diagram. The problem re-occured when I created a new diagram and created a new table again and tried to save (which would create two SQL Server objects objects - table and a diagram). So I created the diagram again, and put the tables into it. I found that the diagram had not saved, but the tables that were new had been created. The first time this happened, I killed the SqlWb.exe process, and restarted SSMS. However, my current instance (like I said above) is Vista Business (32-bit), with SQL Server 2005 SP2 (), so it should not be having this problem. Once I installed SP2, that problem went away.

I never had this problem running SSMS on Windows XP, except when I forgot to install SP2. So, I'm wondering who else has this problem. (20 minutes now of SSMS still trying to save) So the statement from Jonathan that it "takes time to process", is not a helpful answer. It still has the animated "saving" icon going as I type this message.
The last time it hung (15 minutes ago) I just let it go. I would have many more by now, if only SSMS would stop hanging.
The database that I am in was created 60 minutes ago, and I was using the Database Diagrams to create new tables.
If you regularly encounter this delay during normal usage, please report this problem to Microsoft". Twice in the last 30 minutes, SSMS (Sql Server Management Studio) hung after I saved a Database Diagram. SSMS sits there and eventually Vista provides a message in the toolbox titled "is Busy" that says "Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio is waiting for an internal operation to complete. I am running Vista Business (32-bit), with SQL Server 2005 SP2 ().
